Throughpout the process of our research, planning and evaluation stages we used various media technologies in order to make our websites easy to read, as well as being interactive. Some of these were:
-
Green screen
-
Final cut pro
-
Canon 700D and Tripod
-
Youtube
-
Prezi
-
Photoshop
-
Wix Features
-
Motion
-

GREEN SCREEN AND FINAL CUT

Green screen is a technique which we used in order to present some of our film analysis. We did this by mounting a DSLR 700D camera onto a tripod, and then recording members of our in front of a green screen, whilst they analysed a film/clip. We then transfered the footage onto Final Cut Pro using an SD card, and began to edit it into a clear and concise film analysis. In order for us to get footage from the film which we were analysing, we downloaded the clip which we were talking about off Youtube, and placed it alongside the footage we had got. We then used the green screen effect on Final Cut Pro, which resulted in us creating a intereactive and interesting analysis. Green screen was fairly easy to use, however Final Cut Pro was a lot more difficult and complex to understand. However, using Final Cut Pro regularly within our research, planning and evaluation stages meant that by the time we came to our final cut, we were able to use the software accuratley to create a professional short film.

Youtube became very helpful for us when uploading footage, as it was not only simple to upload videos too, it was also very easily accessible as the majority of our target audience know how to use it. It was also very convenient as it meant we could upload media from any software or website, ranging from our analysis' to audience feedbacks.
CANON 700d and tripod

In order for us to be aware of how to use the Canon 700D and tripod correctly as well as knowing what features they specialise in, we created various 'filming practice' clips, which allowed us to experience the equipment so that when it came to our final task, we would not encounter the problem of not knowing how to use a piece of kit. We furthered this practice in our preliminary task, which is where we discovered the difficulties of filming. For example, we found it very difficult to capture a shot that was in focus, and the shot was often blurry. However, with practice we figured out how to focus the camera accuratley, which prepared us for filming our final task. The tripod also allowed us to give our film a professional look, as it restricted unnecessary camera movement and made camera shots more smooth. The tripod was also very easy to use, and only needed one person to control it.
In our research and planning stages, prezi was very useful in presentting film analysis'. Prezi gave the advantage of being a presentation software, which allowed us to show lots of infomation in one themed presentation. It was also very easy to hyperlink on my wix, and was therefore easily accessible. Prezi is also very interactive, which not only helps engage the audience but also entertains them.

Wix

Wix allowed me to post many types of media products onto my website. Sites such as Youtube, Prezi etc can be posted onto my website, and hyperlinked so that you can be taken straight from my website to other sites. Wix also allows me to create a very unique website, as you are able to decide which style, font and photo's you want to include on your site. Wix is a very simple software to use, meaning that it is easy and convenient to put all of your work and infomation in a specific place. Even though it is a very simple software, it succeeds in creating a professional looking website.
Photoshop and illustrator
For our ancillery tasks, we had to create a film poster and a film review, and we decided to use Photoshop and Illustrate to do so. Photoshop CS has very detailed tools which allowed us to experiment when creating our ancillery tasks, meaning we were able to broaden and develop our ideas. Abdobe Illustrator was used more for graphic design, as it creates a very professional and sharp final product. With these software's we were able to create headers, logo's and titles and arrange layouts by
grouping photos and other graphics together. The two software's interlink, as you are able to transfer work from one to the other, meaning you can get the best from both of the applications.

Motion

We used Motion to create the ident for our production company. This software is used to create visual motions such as identsm as it allows you to create a sequence of images which are layered on top of one another. This software is used throughout the media industry, even by professionals, which indicates just how advanced the software is. You are able to add text and music to the visual motion.
