We chose to use a very typical working/upper class house as the house of the stranger, as it would help portray to the audience that he could be a normal, everyday man who lives a normal life.

We chose to use a deserted alley as the place where Lily goes after she leaves home, as it is a very isolated area, which would be a typical place where a homeless person would be likely to sleep. Also, it was near the location of the strangers house, which was very convenient in moving from location to location.

As you can see from the image above, the interior of the house of the stranger, presents a very clean, organised and positive atmosphere. This helps create an impression to the audience, that the stranger is completely normal, as nothing in his house seems immediately suspicious.
