Shooting Dates

In order to keep our filming and production organised, we decided to create a calender, which included all of the dates that we planned to shoot our short film. This helped re-assure that everyone in the group could be available on the days of shooting, as we would all be needed during the shooting of the film so that all of the groups methods and ideas could be shared. It also meant that we could prepare all of the equipment which we need to shoot our film prior to the event, which helped keep us organised and meant there would be no last minute problems of us not having ther equipment that we needed.
Due to our team not being happy with some of the shots which we filmed during our first week of shooting, we decided to go back out and re-shoot some of our shots. This was because some of the interior shots did not have the correct white balance, which gave the shots an orange glow, which looked unatural and did not suit the social realism genre. As well as this, we did not have time on our first shoot to film some of the day time shots, as our filming overan, meaning that by the time it was dark we had not been able to film all of the day time clips which we needed. We found that re-shooting had some positives, as by the time we re-shot, we were very experiences in using the camera's and equipment.

Re-shooting dates
On top of this, our team also had to overcome finding actors that were not only available when we needed them, but people that were able to adapt the role of our charecters. When we eventually found our actors, we found it very difficult to find a date which everyone was available, as all of our production team, as well as all of our actors, were in full time education or full time employment, meaning finding spare time was a challenge. To overcome this, we had to film at night time, when everyone was available, but this was often inconvenient as many of our shots had to be filmed in daytime. We therefore relised that time was a key issue in successfully filming our clips, which meant when filming we had to remain focused, in order to shoot our clips quickly and accuratley.
